I think that your room being like Hermione's is very important. This entry will come in two parts-complete redecoration (which is this one), and simple things.
1. Paint the walls a soft, light color. In the movie of DH 2, Hermione's room is depicted as a light, airy space with lots of books, and the color theme was lavender and pale blue (see picture below). A light blue, purple, or pink will do, if not white.
2. Have a cozy bed. Choose whatever size you want, and get a pretty comforter, plain colors and patterns are good, as well as florals. Add one or more throw pillows (I like this one) and maybe an extra blanket.
3. Get a desk. A desk is essential. Store supplies such as notebook paper, pencils, pens, highlighters, and sticky notes in it as well as supplies for projects, like cardstock, markers, poster paints and brushes, stencils, and stickers. You could also add art supplies, like oil pastels, colored pencils, watercolors, brushes, felt tip markers, and anything else.
4. Stick to white furniture. It adds an airy, peaceful feeling as well as pale colors and pastels.
5. BOOKSHELVES. It doesn't matter if they're wall mounted or sit on the ground, you need bookshelves. Books too, are of course important. You can display your collection of books (which I hope is very large) along with other knick-knacks like figurines, trophies, piggy banks (or other banks-I have a cupcake one) and photographs.
6. Have a memo/inspiration board. It can be a cork board, magnet board, or one of those things with the criss-crossed ribbon. Put up photos, quotes, birthday cards, pins, scraps of fabric, drawings, stickers, anything. You might want several boards.
