How to Clean Your Room in Under 20 Minutes

This is good if you want to spend minimum time cleaning your room, or maybe if you have people coming over and your room is a disaster.

1. Pick up all dirty clothes and put them in the hamper. You will be surprised about how much this does, especially if you have tons of clothes on your floor. This should take about 1 minute.
2. Go around your room and collect anything that belongs somewhere else in the house. Set everything aside. This should take about 2 minutes.
3. Next go around your room and collect anything (clean clothes, books, toys, etc.) that is out of place or you would like to move, then put everything away. This should take around 4 minutes.
4. Pick up trash and put it in a bag, to be thrown away later, or directly in the trash. It may take anywhere from 1-3 minutes.
5. Make your bed, if it is not made already. It should be cleared off by the previous steps. This should take about 2-3 minutes, depending on how much bedding, pillows and stuffed animals you have. Make sure your stuffed animals are neatly arranged.
6. Vacuum your room. This takes around 3-5 minutes.
7. If you have time (or you can), dust. If you don't, do it later. This takes about 2-3 minutes.
8. Finally, throw your trash away if you haven't already, and return anything that belongs somewhere besides your room to where it belongs. These are things you can do when people are arriving, because as long as they are out of your room, your room is technically clean.

If you are ever running short on time (as in people are supposed to start arriving in 3 minutes or something, not you just don't feel like cleaning anymore), as a last resort, shove stuff in your closet, and if you have a bed skirt, under your bed. Just make sure you actually put it away later. Dust and vacuum every week or so, Saturday is a good day to clean your room. Get rid of useless stuff every so often, it just clutters up your room.
